The Aberdeen Academy of Dance is run by Sarah MacNay. At a young age, Sarah started her dance training with Anne Forsyth, as a pupil of the Aberdeen Academy of Dance. She later gained a BEd (Hons) Primary and simultaneously trained as a Royal Academy of Dance ballet teacher. Sarah became principal of the Aberdeen Academy of Dance in 2007 and continues to work part time as a primary school teacher in Aberdeen.

The pupils of the Aberdeen Academy of Dance have performed locally in many Qdos pantomimes, including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Pupils have performed in the past with Aberdeen International Youth Festival and are looking forward to their 10 year anniversary Mediterranean Cruise, which is currently on hold.

Many pupils have gone on to study full time and are now performing locally and abroad.

Sarah has choreographed the Tivoli Panto since 2013 and is delighted to be doing it again this year.
